DT Max T1

  1. Federal EFILE

We are pleased to announce that DT Max has obtained T2203 certification from the Canada Revenue Agency.

For EFILE purposes, the information from federal Form T2203, Provincial and Territorial Taxes for Multiple Jurisdictions - 2023, will now be transmitted along with the T1 federal return and schedules.

In addition, starting with the 2023 taxation year, it is now possible to electronically file the following returns through CRA's EFILE service:

    • Emigrants; and

    • Disposition of taxable Canadian property by a non-resident of Canada - Section 116.

  2. Known issue fixed in version 27.20: MR-69 Electronic Transmission and Quebec ReFILE Attachment Transmission

The electronic transmission of Form MR-69 under the Windows 11 operating system sometimes encountered problems during the transmission process.

A similar problem could also arise under the Quebec ReFILE attachment electronic service.

This problem has now been resolved with version 27.20 of DT Max T1.

DT Max T3

  1. Known issue fixed in version 27.20: Incorrect display of accented characters

DT Max T3 has encountered an encoding issue related to the processing of accented characters within internal files causing strange characters to appear within the tax return.

Keyword input using accented characters is not an issue and the characters are being properly displayed. This issue does not affect the tax calculations.

This issue has been resolved in version 27.20.

  2. CRA update on bare trusts

The Canada Revenue Agency has announced that they will not require bare trusts to file a T3 Income Tax and Information Return, including Schedule 15, for the 2023 tax year, unless the CRA makes a direct request.
